Sculptor’s show celebrates humanity

From the Hereford Times, first published Thursday 21st Jun 2007.

ACCLAIMED sculptor Caro Sweet will be opening the doors of her Bransford studio to the public again on Saturday.

At her annual one-day event, you can see first-hand the stunning new pieces she has created this year.

On approaching the studio, you will be greeted by two giant heads, Adam and Eve, the works-in-progress at last year's Open Day and now displayed outside in the landscape in the way Caro intended.

"My work this year explores a different flavour as a consequence of my visit to the Hawaiian Islands last October," says Caro. "I was there when the earthquake struck and it shook things up in more ways than I imagined.

"The trip had an exciting influence on my work which has become very dynamic with more abstracted figures and forms. The exhibition is a real celebration of humanity."

The one-day event at Beeches Barn Sculpture Studio in Bransford, near Worcester, is open to the public on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
